Want Ghia Side Molding? Be Careful... Here's some tips from the pros

Want Ghia side molding?

Be careful. Consumer danger zone ahead....

Why the concern? There are several molding kits on the market. Quality ranges from superb to not-so-superb.

Used trim is hard to find for many reasons:
1) Each piece on a side is of a different length.
2) Each molding uses a different angle or bevel at the door opening. (Only front of door trim swap side for side)
3) Two non-interchangeable molding clip slots exist. Wide slot used plastic clips. Narrow slot used metal.
4) Two distinctly different cross-sections of trim exist. (i.e. arrow-head/hatchet-shaped, or softly rounded)
5) Each of several suppliers, over the years, made subtle changes in the trim’s profile. (Often to make it more
generic.)
6) Each trim ‘lost’, or wore away, its bright, metal, anodized finish at a different rate.

**Everyone calls trim chrome; actually it is anodized aluminum. All trim comes with correct angles
and bevels.
